Privacy Policy

Personal Step Sync is a personal, non-commercial app operated solely by its owner to keep a local record of the owner's daily steps. It is not offered to the public.

Data accessed and purpose

The app reads only the owner's daily step totals and their associated dates from the Google Health API, for the owner's personal fitness records.

It requests this read-only OAuth scope:

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/googlehealth.activity_and_fitness.readonly

This permission covers activity and fitness data more broadly, but this app uses it only to retrieve daily step totals. The app does not request write access and cannot modify or delete Google Health data.

Storage and retention

Downloaded step totals and dates are stored only on the owner's computer. The refresh token used for the sync is kept in a protected local file. Records remain there until the owner deletes them.

Sharing

The app does not sell, share, publish, or upload the downloaded step data to third parties. No advertising or analytics service receives the step data.

Revoke access and delete local data

  1. Open Google Account connections while signed in to the account used for the sync.
  2. Select the connection for this app. Google may identify an unverified app by its domain or developer email instead of its app name.
  3. Choose the option to remove its access or delete the connection, then confirm.

Revoking access stops future authorized retrieval. It does not delete records already saved on the owner's computer. To remove those records, the owner can disable the scheduled sync and delete its local step records and stored token. This does not delete the original data held by Google.

This website

These informational pages do not receive step data or OAuth credentials and contain no forms, analytics scripts, or tracking cookies. Cloudflare hosts the pages and may process technical request information needed to deliver and secure the website.
